It is with great sadness that Beckington Pre-school announces the planned closure at the end of the summer term.
This is a decision not taken likely, however with low attendees and predicted low numbers for another couple of years the finances cannot sustain the deficit predicted.
All the staff, committee, and trustees want to thank the village and community for all the years we have been able to serve you and for the support given.
We hope to finish the summer on a high note and wish all the leaving children great success in the future.
Beckington Pre-School is a community Pre-School operating as a registered charity. We are run by a committee made up of volunteer parents/carers of Pre-School children and staff members. We hold half termly meetings at which discussions are held and decisions made about running our Pre-School. We also organise fundraising events through the year to raise additional money for books, equipment and toys.
Our Team
The Pre-School staff and Committee are in touch with new thinking in the field of child education and care through on-going training and literature. Somerset Early Years Department also provides up-to-date training, which the staff attend as part of their Staff Development Programme. All staff hold up to date first aid training.

All our permanent staff are Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA) trained and there is at least one member of staff per session with a current First Aid Certificate .
Pre-School Committee
Our committee is made up of volunteer parents/carers of Pre-School children and staff members. Joining the committee is a great way to meet other parents and support the ongoing development of the Pre-School. We hold half termly meetings at which decisions are made about running our Pre-School. If you are interested in joining the committee please talk to a member of staff.
